Sean Michael Maurice Taylor (April 1, 1983 – November 27, 2007) was an exceptionally gifted American football safety who played for the Washington Redskins (now Washington Commanders) in the National Football League (NFL) for four seasons. He was renowned for his ferocious hitting, incredible athleticism, and rare playmaking ability. Taylor played college football for the University of Miami, where he was a consensus All-American and a key member of the 2001 BCS National Championship team. Drafted 5th overall by Washington in the 2004 NFL Draft, he quickly established himself as one of the league's most dynamic and feared defensive players. His promising career and life were tragically cut short when he was murdered during a home invasion at the age of 24. He remains a beloved and iconic figure for Washington fans and the wider NFL community, remembered for his on-field intensity and talent.

Inducted into the Washington Commanders Ring of Fame, and his jersey number #21 was retired by the team in 2021, honoring his profound impact and legacy.
Earned Consensus All-American honors in 2003 while playing for the University of Miami, where he was also the Big East Defensive Player of the Year.

The High Sheriff of Berkshire is an ancient, independent, non-political Royal appointment for a single year. The origins of the office date back to Saxon times, pre-dating the Norman Conquest. Historically, the Sheriff was the principal law enforcement officer in the county, but today the role is largely ceremonial. The High Sheriff supports the Crown, the judiciary, law enforcement, emergency services, local charities, and community groups within Berkshire. The role is unpaid and involves significant personal expense and time commitment.
