Sven Magnus Øen Carlsen (born 30 November 1990) is a Norwegian chess grandmaster widely regarded as one of the greatest chess players of all time. He held the title of World Chess Champion for a decade, from 2013 to 2023, captivating fans with his deep understanding of the game and remarkable consistency. Carlsen also holds multiple World Rapid and World Blitz Champion titles (five and seven times respectively, as of early 2024), showcasing his prowess across all time formats. He learned chess at age 5 and became a Grandmaster at 13.
