The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) is a statutory body established in 2006 under the ZDA Act No. 11. Its mandate is to foster economic growth and development by promoting trade and investment and facilitating an efficient, effective, and coordinated private sector-led economic development strategy in Zambia. ZDA works to attract foreign direct investment, promote exports, support local businesses including Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and advise the government on policies to improve the business environment. Key focus areas include agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, energy, mining, and infrastructure development.
Serves as the central operational hub for national investment and trade promotion, policy implementation, investor facilitation, export development, and enterprise development programs.
Modern, accessible office building, known as ZDA House (Privatisation House), equipped with resources for investors and businesses, including a one-stop shop facility for business registration and licensing facilitation.
Professional, results-oriented, and collaborative, with a strong focus on national economic development, stakeholder engagement, integrity, and fostering a conducive business environment in line with its core values of Professionalism, Integrity, Innovation, Customer Focus, Team Work, and Patriotism.
Crucial center for driving Zambia's economic diversification, attracting foreign and local investment, promoting exports, and implementing government policies for private sector growth and job creation.
ZDA actively promotes Zambia as an attractive investment and trade destination on the global stage. This involves organizing and participating in international investment forums, trade missions, and exhibitions; engaging with Zambian diplomatic missions abroad; and collaborating with international development partners, chambers of commerce, and trade organizations to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and enhance export market access for Zambian products and services. While its physical offices are primarily within Zambia, ZDA's reach is global through strategic partnerships, digital platforms, and targeted promotional activities in key source markets.
