YouthLinkTO is a multi-service, non-profit, accredited Children’s Mental Health agency dedicated to providing a range of mental health services and supports to youth (aged 12-24) and their families in Scarborough and across Toronto. Founded in 1914 as the Big Sister Association of Toronto, the organization has evolved to address the complex needs of young people, offering counseling, walk-in clinics, youth justice programs, housing support, and specialized programs like the Youth Knect Hubs. YouthLinkTO is committed to evidence-based practices, inclusivity, and empowering young people to build resilience and achieve well-being.
The headquarters serves as the central administrative and operational hub for YouthLinkTO, coordinating a wide range of mental health services, youth programs, and family support initiatives for the Scarborough and wider Toronto community.
The facility is designed to be a safe, welcoming, and accessible space for young people and families, featuring private counseling rooms, group therapy areas, and resource centers. It aims to provide a supportive environment conducive to healing and growth.
YouthLinkTO fosters a collaborative, compassionate, and client-centered work culture. Staff are dedicated to the mission of supporting youth mental health, with an emphasis on teamwork, professional development, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
As a key mental health service provider in Scarborough, the headquarters is significant for its role in delivering essential support to thousands of young people and their families annually, addressing critical community needs and acting as a beacon of hope.
YouthLinkTO's operations are primarily focused on serving the youth and families within Scarborough and the Greater Toronto Area. While it does not have a global network of offices, its expertise in youth mental health, innovative programs (like What’s Up Walk-In® clinics and Youth Knect Hubs), and commitment to evidence-based practices contribute significantly to the broader child and youth mental health sector. Its models and learnings have the potential to be shared and adapted in other regions nationally, and even internationally, through sector collaborations, research partnerships, and knowledge exchange platforms, thereby extending its impact beyond its immediate geographical service area.
