Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) is the only national Vietnam veterans' organization congressionally chartered and exclusively dedicated to Vietnam-era veterans and their families. VVA's founding principle is 'Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another.' The organization strives to improve the lives of veterans through legislative advocacy, support programs, community service, and promoting a positive public perception of Vietnam veterans. Key areas of focus include healthcare access, addressing issues like Agent Orange exposure and PTSD, and ensuring the fullest possible accounting of POW/MIAs.
Serves as the national administrative center, coordinating advocacy efforts, member services, and national programs for Vietnam Veterans of America.
The headquarters is a modern office facility strategically located near Washington D.C. to facilitate advocacy and government relations. Its notability stems from its central role in VVA's national operations rather than specific architectural highlights.
A mission-driven environment focused on service, advocacy, and camaraderie. Staff and volunteers are dedicated to supporting Vietnam-era veterans and their families, reflecting the organization's motto: 'Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another.'
The VVA National Headquarters is the central hub for policy-making, national program management, and legislative action on behalf of Vietnam veterans. It represents the collective voice of its members to the government and the public.
While Vietnam Veterans of America is primarily focused on serving veterans within the United States, its work has global implications, particularly through its enduring commitment to achieving the fullest possible accounting of all U.S. service members designated as Prisoners of War or Missing in Action (POW/MIA) from the Vietnam War. This involves engagement with governments and organizations in Southeast Asia. VVA also supports American veterans living abroad through advocacy and information dissemination on relevant issues.
