The Vermont Foodbank is Vermont's only statewide food bank and the largest anti-hunger organization in the state. Their mission is to gather and share quality food and nurture partnerships so that no one in Vermont will go hungry. They distribute food through a network of over 300 community partners, including food shelves, meal sites, senior centers, and after-school programs. Beyond food distribution, the Vermont Foodbank also engages in advocacy, education, and programs aimed at addressing the root causes of hunger and food insecurity.
Serves as the central administrative hub, primary warehouse for receiving, sorting, storing, and distributing millions of pounds of food annually. It also coordinates volunteer activities and statewide program management.
Large-scale warehousing with extensive dry, refrigerated, and frozen storage capacity; volunteer sorting and packing areas; loading docks for efficient logistics; and administrative offices.
A mission-driven and collaborative environment focused on compassion, dignity, and community service. Staff and volunteers are dedicated to alleviating hunger and work with a strong sense of purpose and urgency.
The Barre headquarters is the logistical heart of Vermont's fight against hunger, enabling the efficient flow of food to communities across all 14 counties of the state.
The Vermont Foodbank's operations are concentrated entirely within the state of Vermont. They do not have an international or national presence beyond state lines but work comprehensively across all Vermont counties to combat hunger through a robust network of local partners and distribution channels.
