Venture For America (VFA) is a national non-profit organization founded in 2011 by Andrew Yang. Its mission is to create economic opportunity in American cities by mobilizing the next generation of entrepreneurs and equipping them with the skills and resources they need to create jobs. VFA runs a two-year fellowship program for recent college graduates who work at startups in emerging U.S. cities like Baltimore, Detroit, Charlotte, and St. Louis. Fellows gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and a supportive network to help them become successful entrepreneurs and community leaders, ultimately contributing to the revitalization and growth of these urban centers.
Serves as the central hub for VFA's national operations, strategic planning, program management, fundraising, and administrative functions supporting its fellowship program and network across various U.S. cities.
Located in a dynamic area of Birmingham, the office likely fosters collaboration and connection with the local entrepreneurial community. Emphasis is on functional, mission-driven space designed to support VFA's team and operational needs.
The work culture at VFA's headquarters is mission-driven, collaborative, and entrepreneurial. Employees are passionate about community impact, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and supporting young leaders. It fosters innovation and a proactive approach to achieving organizational goals.
The Birmingham headquarters signifies VFA's deep commitment to one of its key partner cities, embedding its core operations within an emerging entrepreneurial ecosystem it actively supports. This allows for direct engagement, learning, and demonstration of its model.
Venture for America operates exclusively within the United States. Its mission is centered on creating economic opportunity in American cities by mobilizing the next generation of entrepreneurs to work for startups in emerging ecosystems across the country. VFA currently supports Fellows and partner companies in over a dozen cities nationwide.
