The California Endowment (TCE) is a private, statewide health foundation established in 1996. Its mission is to expand access to affordable, quality health care for underserved individuals and communities, and to promote fundamental improvements in the health status of all Californians. TCE focuses on addressing health inequities, supporting community-led solutions, and advocating for policies that create healthier communities and a healthier state.
Serves as the central hub for The California Endowment's statewide operations, including grantmaking, strategic planning, research, and administration. It supports the foundation's mission to advance health equity across California.
The Los Angeles Center for Healthy Communities includes state-of-the-art conference and meeting facilities, a learning center, and public gathering spaces designed to support grantees, partners, and community members in their work to improve health outcomes.
Characterized by a mission-driven, collaborative, and inclusive environment. Employees are deeply committed to social justice, health equity, and empowering California's diverse communities to advocate for lasting change.
The headquarters is a physical manifestation of TCE's commitment to being an accessible partner and a vital resource for communities. It acts as a central point for convening leaders, organizations, and residents dedicated to building a healthier California.
The California Endowment's mission and operations are primarily focused on the state of California. It does not maintain a global operational presence with international offices. Its efforts are dedicated to improving the health and wellness of all Californians by addressing health inequities within the state. While it may engage in learning exchanges or share its model with national or international entities, its grantmaking and programmatic work are California-centric.
