Tax Executives Institute (TEI) is a non-profit, professional association established in 1944. It is dedicated to serving the needs of in-house tax professionals globally. TEI provides a forum for its members to share knowledge, develop their careers through educational programs, network with peers, and advocate for sound tax policy and administration. The organization is comprised of members who are business executives responsible for the tax affairs of their employers in an executive, administrative, or managerial capacity.
The headquarters serves as the central administrative hub, coordinating global membership services, educational programming, advocacy efforts, publications, and major conferences.
Modern office facilities within a prominent commercial building in downtown Washington, D.C., equipped to support TEI's operational needs and host meetings.
Professional, collaborative, and member-focused, with a dedication to excellence in serving the global in-house tax community and advancing the tax profession.
Its location in the U.S. capital allows TEI to effectively engage with policymakers, legislators, and regulatory agencies on tax matters affecting its members and the broader business community.
TEI does not operate traditional branch offices. Instead, its global presence is maintained through a robust network of over 50 chapters located in major business centers across North America (United States and Canada), Europe, and Asia. These chapters are member-led and organize local meetings, educational seminars, and networking events tailored to regional interests and tax issues. The central TEI organization supports these chapters and provides global resources, conferences, and advocacy.
