Shanty Town Design has a global reach through its project-based work, research collaborations, and partnerships, primarily in developing regions of Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Key global functions include: remote design and technical consultation, development of open-source design toolkits, capacity-building workshops for local artisans and builders, research into climate-adaptive and low-cost construction technologies, and advocacy for inclusive urban policies on international platforms. While our main offices are in the Netherlands and key project regions, our network of consultants and volunteers extends our impact worldwide.
