What Does Senvion Do?
Senvion S.A. (formerly REpower Systems AG) was a major German-headquartered, globally operating manufacturer of onshore and offshore wind turbines. Founded in 2001 and rebranded from REpower to Senvion in 2014, the company designed, manufactured, and installed wind turbines worldwide, known for its multi-megawatt class turbines. In April 2019, Senvion filed for insolvency. Subsequently, its European onshore service business and all its intellectual property were acquired by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy in a deal completed in January 2020.
