Scottish Golf is the national governing body for amateur golf in Scotland, officially formed on 1st October 2015 through the amalgamation of the Scottish Golf Union (SGU) and the Scottish Ladies’ Golfing Association (SLGA). Its core mission is to promote, develop, and govern amateur golf throughout Scotland, making the sport accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Scottish Golf supports affiliated golf clubs, manages national squads and championships, provides handicapping services (through the WHS), and works to increase participation at all levels of the game, from grassroots initiatives to elite performance.
The headquarters serves as the central administrative and operational hub for all Scottish Golf activities, including governance, club support, performance programs, and event management.
Located at The Duke's, a championship parkland course, offering inspiring views and a direct connection to a premier golfing facility. The office space is modern and designed for collaboration.
A passionate, dedicated, and collaborative environment, with staff committed to the growth and success of golf in Scotland. The culture emphasizes teamwork and a love for the sport.
Being based in St Andrews, the historical heart of golf, provides Scottish Golf with unparalleled prestige and reinforces its authority and commitment to the sport's traditions and future.
Scottish Golf's primary operational focus is national, within Scotland. However, it maintains a global presence through the participation of its national teams in international amateur competitions, collaboration with international golf federations like The R&A and European Golf Association, and by promoting Scotland as a world-leading golf destination. Its role in upholding the traditions and standards of golf in its homeland also contributes to its global influence.
