Philabundance is the Delaware Valley's largest hunger relief organization, acquiring, rescuing, and distributing food to help feed those in need and advocating for policies that increase food access. Founded in 1984, Philabundance works with a network of nearly 350 agency partners, including food pantries, shelters, and emergency kitchens, to serve communities in southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey. Their mission is to drive hunger from our communities today and end hunger for good by providing food, strengthening the hunger relief network, and addressing the root causes of food insecurity.
Serves as the central hub for food sourcing, warehousing, sorting, packing, and distribution operations. It also houses administrative offices, volunteer operations, and program management.
Large-scale warehouse facility with extensive dry, refrigerated, and frozen storage capacity; dedicated volunteer center; fleet of trucks for food transportation.
Mission-driven, collaborative, and community-focused, with a strong emphasis on volunteer engagement and making a tangible impact on hunger relief. Employees and volunteers often express a deep commitment to the organization's cause.
The headquarters is critical to Philabundance's ability to efficiently collect, process, and distribute millions of pounds of food annually to its network partners and directly to individuals and families.
Philabundance is primarily focused on serving the Delaware Valley region, encompassing southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey. It does not have a direct global operational presence but contributes to the broader global movement against hunger through its affiliation with Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief organization, and by sharing best practices within the food banking network.
