The Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU/SEFPO) is a prominent Canadian trade union representing over 180,000 full-and part-time public sector employees across Ontario. Its members work in a diverse range of sectors including provincial government ministries, agencies, boards, and commissions, as well as community colleges (CAAT-A, CAAT-S), the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO), hospitals, developmental services, children's aid societies, community agencies, and more. OPSEU/SEFPO is dedicated to advocating for workers' rights, negotiating fair collective agreements, promoting safe and healthy workplaces, and championing quality public services for all Ontarians. The union is actively involved in political action and community organizing to advance the interests of its members and the broader working class.
The headquarters houses the union's leadership, central administrative staff, legal services, communications, research, education, and organizing departments. It facilitates provincial bargaining, policy development, and member support.
A modern, multi-story office building equipped with meeting rooms, conference facilities, and resources to support union activities and training for members and staff. It is designed to be accessible for members from across the province.
The work culture at OPSEU/SEFPO headquarters is mission-driven, collaborative, and dynamic, focused on advocacy and member representation. Staff are often union members themselves, fostering a strong sense of solidarity and commitment to social justice and workers' rights.
As the nerve center of one of Ontario's largest unions, the headquarters is crucial for coordinating province-wide campaigns, bargaining strategies, and delivering essential services to its diverse membership.
OPSEU/SEFPO's operations are primarily concentrated within the province of Ontario, Canada, where it represents public sector workers. While it is affiliated with national (e.g., NUPGE, CLC) and international labour federations (e.g., Public Services International) to engage in broader solidarity and advocacy on global labour issues, it does not maintain operational offices outside of Ontario for direct member representation or service delivery.
