The building, designed by Boora Architects (with Blackburn Architects), features three pavilions symbolizing courage, cooperation, and perseverance. A key artifact is 'The Slave Pen,' an actual 19th-century slave jail from a Kentucky farm. Its location offers panoramic views of the Ohio River, a historic barrier and gateway to freedom.
