Disability Rights Maryland (DRM) is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and Maryland's designated Protection and Advocacy (P&A) agency. Since 1977, DRM has been committed to upholding and advancing the rights of Marylanders with all types of disabilities, across the lifespan. They provide free legal services, advocacy, education, and outreach to ensure individuals with disabilities are free from harm, can exercise their legal and human rights, and are treated with dignity and respect. DRM works on systemic issues and individual cases related to abuse, neglect, discrimination, and access to education, employment, housing, healthcare, voting, and community integration.
The headquarters serves as the primary center for legal services, systemic advocacy initiatives, client intake, policy work, community outreach programs, and all administrative and operational functions for the organization across Maryland.
Located in the Mill No. 1 complex, an award-winning, LEED Gold certified adaptive reuse of a historic 19th-century mill, offering modern, accessible office space with unique architectural character on the Jones Falls.
DRM fosters a mission-driven, collaborative, and empathetic work environment. Staff are deeply committed to social justice, advocating passionately for the rights of individuals with disabilities and striving to make a tangible, positive impact in their lives.
The Baltimore headquarters is central to DRM's ability to coordinate its statewide mission, house its expert legal and advocacy teams, and serve as an accessible point of contact for clients, community partners, policymakers, and the public.
