The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) is one of the largest non-profit theatre organizations in the United States. Located in downtown Denver, Colorado, it offers a diverse range of theatrical experiences, including Broadway tours, locally produced theatre by its Tony Award-winning Theatre Company, immersive productions, and extensive educational programs. The DCPA aims to inspire, entertain, and educate nearly a million theatregoers annually through the power of live performance, new play development, and community engagement.
Serves as the central hub for all artistic, production, administrative, marketing, development, and educational operations of the organization. It encompasses multiple performance venues, rehearsal halls, costume and scene shops, and administrative offices.
The DCPA operates within the expansive Denver Performing Arts Complex, which includes the Helen Bonfils Theatre Complex (housing The Wolf, Kilstrom, Singleton, and Jones Theatres), the Buell Theatre, and the Garner Galleria Theatre. The complex features iconic architecture, including a soaring glass archway (The Galleria).
A dynamic, creative, and collaborative environment driven by a shared passion for the performing arts. Employees are committed to artistic excellence, innovation, community engagement, and fostering an inclusive and vibrant cultural hub.
The DCPA is a cultural cornerstone for Denver and the Rocky Mountain West, recognized nationally for its theatre productions, Broadway presentations, and new play development. It significantly contributes to the local economy and arts education.
While primarily serving Denver and the Rocky Mountain region, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts has a national and sometimes international impact. Its Theatre Company has premiered numerous plays that have gone on to productions in New York and other cities. It hosts national Broadway tours and collaborates with artists from around the world. Its commitment to new play development through initiatives like the Colorado New Play Summit attracts national attention. The DCPA does not maintain physical international offices but contributes to the global arts dialogue through its artistic output and partnerships.
