Connecticut Foodshare is the state's primary food bank, created from the 2021 merger of Connecticut Food Bank and Foodshare. Its mission is to provide nutritious food to people in need by collaborating with a network of over 650 partner programs, including food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters, across all of Connecticut. They are dedicated to addressing immediate food insecurity while also working on long-term solutions to hunger.
Serves as the central administrative hub, primary warehouse for food receival and storage, and main distribution point for food donations and purchases across Connecticut.
Extensive warehouse facility with large-scale refrigeration and freezer capacity for perishable goods, dedicated volunteer center for sorting and packing food, and advanced logistics capabilities.
A mission-driven, collaborative environment focused on community impact and alleviating hunger. Staff and numerous volunteers work together with a shared sense of purpose, dedication, and compassion.
The Wallingford headquarters is critical to Connecticut Foodshare's operations, coordinating the sourcing, storage, and distribution of millions of pounds of food annually to partner agencies statewide. It acts as the logistical and administrative core of their hunger relief efforts.
Connecticut Foodshare's operations are concentrated solely within the state of Connecticut, serving all its counties and communities. While not operating globally, it is an integral member of the Feeding America network, a leading national hunger-relief organization in the United States.
