Cabrini College was a private Catholic liberal arts college located in Radnor, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1957 by the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, it offered undergraduate and graduate degrees with a strong emphasis on social justice and 'Education of the Heart.' Due to financial challenges and declining enrollment, Cabrini College officially closed after the 2023-2024 academic year, ceasing operations in May 2024. Its campus and legacy were subsequently acquired by Villanova University, which plans to integrate the Cabrini campus into its own operations and honor its traditions.
Served as the central hub for all academic programs, administrative offices, student housing, athletic facilities, and community life for Cabrini College.
The picturesque 112-acre campus featured historic buildings like the Woodcrest Mansion (which housed administrative offices and event spaces), the Holy Spirit Library, the Dixon Center for athletics, various academic halls, and residential villages. Its well-maintained grounds and accessible layout were key features.
As an educational institution, the 'work culture' for faculty and staff was focused on student development, academic excellence, and fostering a community rooted in Cabrini's mission of social justice. It was known for a close-knit environment where faculty-student interaction was encouraged.
The Radnor campus was the heart of Cabrini College for its entire 67-year history, embodying its mission and providing a transformative educational experience for thousands of students.
While Cabrini College was physically located in Radnor, PA, its global presence was expressed through international student enrollment, study abroad programs that sent students to various countries, and a curriculum infused with global awareness and social justice issues. The founding order, the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, also has a significant international presence, which informed the college's ethos. However, it did not operate physical campuses or offices globally.
