HQ Function

The primary and sole facility for the Aga Khan Museum, housing its permanent collection, temporary exhibition galleries, auditorium for performances and lectures, educational spaces, research library, conservation labs, and administrative offices.

Notable Features:

Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Fumihiko Maki, the building features white Brazilian granite, a central light-filled courtyard, and angular glass planes. Its design is inspired by light (Nur) and geometric patterns found in Islamic art. The site also includes a formal Chahar Bagh (four-part garden) designed by landscape architect Vladimir Djurovic.
